 Company profile
The unconcerned observer might consider the company Compel Rail, founded in 1998, to be an immature beginner that has to pay newcomer tax, as it has only been in existence and manufacturing machines for the construction and maintenance of railway tracks, for a relatively short period. In fact, the opposite is true. Compel Rail follows on from a Slovak tradition in railway manufacturing, accumulated over forty years. The founders of the railway workshops, established in the 1950s, during the course of the expansion and mechanisation of the railway industry, are unlikely to have realised the extent to which the fledgling Czechoslovak State Railway Industry would grow. This modest, local firm was transformed, through the privatisation of the state-owned Mechanizacia traťového hospodárstva (Mechanisation of the Railway Industry, MTH), into an internationally recognised private company. The whole complex process, achieved without disrupting the continuity of design development and with the preservation of its existing workforce, required much hard work and the patience of many devoted people and is proof that we are serious about keeping pace with the rest of the world. The sweeping social changes of the last few years have led to the emergence of a compact, competitive company that is capable of fulfilling the special requirements of its clients and customers to a world standard. The sheer number of machines and devices that we export around the world is evidence of our high standards. Our firm is ready to fulfil all aspects of our clients' requirements concerning the efficiency and reliability of our products. The experience and technical know-how of Compel Rail makes our machines an invaluable asset.
PRODUCTION PROGRAMME
Railways are the key to creating a vital and healthy infrastructure. We want to play an important role in the development of a modern railway system, by providing not only machines and equipment for the construction and maintenance of railways, but also diagnostic machinery.

We are gradually expanding our production programme to include new models relating to small railway mechanisation and accessory manipulators for road building machines, with an emphasis on health and safety in the workplace. The production potential of our company enables us to participate in the production of special machines for winter road maintenance as well as specialised delivery/transport systems. Our firm is also interested in competing in foreign markets. Initially, this has meant cooperating with companies in the Russian Federation, through the expansion of our production programme to include a novel vacuum cleaner that was awarded a golden medal in 1999 at an exhibition of railway machines in Russia. We believe this to be a good springboard for further business activities abroad and a challenge to further develop our range.
