History

• In 1953, Railway Workshops, for the basic maintenance and repair of railway parts, were established. Gradually, the workshops began specialising in the construction and design areas of railway engineering.

• In 1969, Mechanizacia traťového hospodárstva (Mechanisation of the Railway Industry) was established as an independent firm under the direct leadership of the General Headquarters of Czechoslovak State Railways in Prague. The development of the firm was directly linked to the creation of an Independent Design Office with its own technical and technological equipment and production programme. At that time, the production capacity of the firm was rapidly increasing. The machines and equipment produced were mainly directed towards the home market, but contacts were also made with export firms operating in Eastern Europe.

• In 1992, a private firm was established. The original production programme remained, but an emphasis was placed on expanding business contacts within the new markets.

• In 1998, Compel Rail was founded. The property, production rights and expertise of the original MTH were all purchased. Since the establishment of the new firm, activity has been directed towards the reinforcement of the design department, the creation of its high-tech potential and its implementation in the innovation and modernisation process. There is a marked emphasis on reinforcing business activities and focusing on an optimal relationship between the producer and client. The aim is to fulfil the needs of the client.
